LOS ANGELES
MISSION STATEMENT - PHILOSOPHY - CRITERIA - SEMIOTICS - COMMUNITY
PUBLIC GENRES was created as a free public art program to support local artists in the Greater Los Angeles area.Â
All programs will be free and open to the public. Programs will be documented for educational purposes.
All Artists will be validated by their work - The intention is to highlight and explore artist projects in public spaces to create a dialog between art and the places they inhabit.
We seek to enrich the lives of artists and provide culturally significant programs that can create a dialog between arts and the community.
We are interested in visual linguistics - with no limits to technical boundaries.
WHAT IS PUBLIC GENRES?
PUBLIC GENRES is an artist-run platform focused on experimental exhibitions and highlighting artists work through written media. We work with artists to create site-specific presentations of art. Exhibition sites are intended to be ephemeral.
